Lavender essential oil is steam distilled from the lavender plant. In ancient Greece and Rome, lavender and its essential oils were used as medicine, to make healthful teas, as perfumes, and for bathing and personal hygiene products.

For centuries lavender has been used for various ailments from minor cuts and bruises to chronic diseases. The sweet fragrance of lavender can uplift the mind whilst relaxing the body, making it ideal for balance and calm. In aro­­matherapy, it is often used to combat depression, stress, and fatigue. It is believed to be effective in easing symptoms associated with joint and muscle pains, and menstrual discomfort. Known to benefit restful sleep and relaxation.

Fennel essential oil is extracted from the crushed seeds by steam distillation. It was a popular herb used by the ancient Chinese, Egyptians, and Romans, who believed that fennel helped give longer life, and improved a person's courage, strength and resolve.

The oil, like the seeds, is good for digestion and said to be good for constipation and the relief of nausea.  It has a cleansing and toning effect on the skin, and is used in aromatherapy to treat oily skin, wrinkles, cellulite and obesity. Its diuretic effect is believed to help disperse cellulite. It is also said to aid weight loss by promoting feelings of satiety.  Promotes calm and resolve when feeling overwhelmed.

Geranium essential oil is steam distilled from the leaves of the plant Pelargonium graveolens. It has a strong smell with a floral aroma, and hints of mint and apple. The plants were introduced to European countries in the 17th century.

The charming fragrance of this oil has a calming and grounding effect, with a natural ability to balance and uplift mind, body and spirit.  Geranium essential oil helps balance oily and dry skin, and brings about relaxation, relieving stress and anxiety. Geranium oil has been used to treat many skin conditions, including dry, sore and ageing skin, and is popular for use for those with menopausal problems.

Roman chamomile is extracted from the flower and the upper parts of the plant and has a sweet, fruity aroma. It has excellent calming properties, and is said to ease irritation and impatience.  The medicinal use of chamomile dates back thousands of years to the Romans, Greeks, and ancient Egyptians, and Hippocrates is said to have used chamomile as a herbal remedy. 

Chamomile is excellent for skin problems dry or itchy skin, and the gentle soothing properties of roman chamomile essential oil eases sprains, strains when used with a cold compress. It has an antispasmodic effect that is highly effective for relieving abdominal or period cramps as well as nausea.

Do not ingest Lily & Loaf Essential Oils. Never use undiluted.

  • Massage or topical add 3-5 drops per 10ml of carrier oil.

  • Vaporiser add 4-5 drops to cold water in a vaporiser.

  • Inhalation add 2-3 drops to hot water, inhale vapour through nose.

  • Bathing add 5-10 drops to water or carrier oil, stir into bathwater.

Possible skin sensitivity. External use only.  Do not use undiluted on the skin. Avoid contact with eyes, ears, mucus membranes, and sensitive areas. If you are pregnant, nursing, or using prescription medication, consult your Doctor or qualified health care practitioner before using essential oils. Not recommended for use on children under 12 years. Store in a cool dry place, out of reach and sight of children.
